Eric Energy is the premier science entertainer in the Baltimore/Washington area. With over 12 years of classroom, camp and stage experience, Eric is a master at bringing scientific concepts to young audiences and making learning fun.

Eric Energy offers live, interactive, hands-on science shows that come directly to you. You may choose from programs designed for grade levels Pre-K to middle school. The wide range of educational topics includes air, matter, sound, electricity and more! A well-trained "wacky" scientist will be your instructor and volunteers from the audience will be used effectively throughout the show.

Eric is currently featuring a Halloween Science Spectacular show. It’s a 60-minute show featuring an appropriately "scary" scientist. The performance is comprised of kinesthetic, visual science experiments that deal with sound waves, air currents and matter. Every kid in the audience will enjoy seeing spooky vortex fog rings, a real witch’s brew and a Halloween "sound creator". This show is perfect for any private party or Halloween school assembly.

Eric Energy is also ideal for general school assemblies, camp performances, preschools, Scouts, PTA gatherings, birthday parties and festivals, both large and small, involving kids and their families. Our shows are typically 60 minutes long but they can be customized to your event.

Eric Energy’s shows are a great way to guarantee that your child’s birthday will be a hit. Your party will be electrified and your kids will become totally engaged in the educational ideas presented to them. All that is needed is a rectangular table and space for the kids to sit on the floor. In addition, party favors like "Make-Your-Own Slime" are available for your guests to take home.

Got Yo-yo? Eric is a talented yo-yo’er and has created a show called Yo-yo Mania. Your group will not only learn about the history and science of one of the world’s oldest toys but they’ll also learn the basics of mastering the yo-yo themselves. Eric Energy Yo-yo’s are available for your guests to take home as a souvenir party favor.

Team Eric Energy is a group of instructors trained in the art of making learning fun. Educational afterschool programs and workshops have been developed carefully at each grade level and are available for many types of gatherings. We offer 6-8 week classes highlighting one exciting science topic for each session. Students will be encouraged to participate in class and they’ll often have a take-home experiment to discuss with their family and friends.

Jeannie Thomas, a.k.a. Extreme Jean, started teaching children about the fun of learning when she graduated from Towson University in 1993 with her degree in elementary education. Then, she went on to receive her master degree in education from Loyola College in MD in 2002.

Jeannie worked for seven years as a second grade teacher in Harford County, MD. She enjoyed teaching children about many different things. It was always important to her to fill the school days with hands-on learning experiences.

She's married and has two young daughters who get a kick out of their mom's science shows. Jeannie has traveled throughout Maryland entertaining groups with wacky science experiments that keep audiences' eyes glued and anticipating the next wonder.

Recently, she's brought her shows to camps, daycares, homes, schools and events. Jeannie loves when the kids join in the action during the shows. At the end of each show, she asks "Did you guys have fun?" and they always respond with a loud, "YES!"
